Orthorectification
Orthoimages are digital images showing the almost orthogonal projection of the scene taken with the camera. This transformation is a correction of the conic projection, camera distortions and effects due to the relief. Distances, angles, areas and their precision can be measured on orthoimages in the same way than is done on cartographic maps. Three-dimensional information is obtained with the third coordinate supply by digital models.

Their applications are not limited to the cartographic production but offer numerous possibilities in the topographic sector such as visualization and 3D modelling.
