Orthorectification

Orthoimages are digital images showing the almost orthogonal projection of the scene taken with the camera. This transformation is a correction of the conic projection, camera distortions and effects due to the relief. Distances, angles, areas and their precision can be measured on orthoimages in the same way than is done on cartographic maps. Three-dimensional information is obtained with the third coordinate supply by digital models.

Orthoimages' low cost, high quality and easy interpretation are the reasons why our clients are demanding these kind products for planning, updating, analysis and territorial management jobs as cartographic support in GIS softwares. Their applications are not limited to the cartographic production but offer numerous possibilities in the topographic sector such as visualization and 3D modelling. Orthoimages allow to extract georefered information easier and faster than conventional cartography.
