STEREOCARTO is a leader company with a long experience obtaining Digital Surface and Terrain Models (DSM's and DTM's, respectively) by means of Airborne Laser Scanning (ALS). For this reason STEREOCARTO has been awarded to obtain digital terrain models with LiDAR technology and orthophotos of the Guadalhorce and Guadiaro river basins.

The Agencia Andaluza del Agua (Andalusian Office for the Water) needs to contract some specific cartographic works using LiDAR technology, which permits to obtain an accurate terrain reconstruction. This is achieved by the generation of digital terrain models, surface terrain models, intensity models and orthophotos of the different basins that form this project.

The results of this work will be an important part in the further hydraulic studies of Guadalhorce, Guadiaro, Guadalete and Barbate river basins. The principal aim of these studies is to prevent flood hazards and to minimize their consequences in some of the andalusian city centers.

The extension of the whole project is 198,000 ha
Guadiaro basin: 1,484 Km2
Guadalhorce basin: 3,855.75 km2

The contract is for 10 months
